Premier League Gameweek 3 Preview: Lineups, Team News & Fixtures (Sept 2026)

The corrected Gameweek 3 slate runs Friday to Sunday, September 4-6, and it's a big one: leaders Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates, Manchester City welcome newly-promoted Coventry, and Everton get their first shot at a new-look Manchester United under Michael Carrick. Deadline day has just passed, so a few squads look different from what you saw in Gameweek 2. Here's the full breakdown with kickoff times in US Eastern.

Ipswich Town vs Liverpool - Friday, 3:00 PM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Ipswich Town: Scherpen; Davis, Diop, Greaves, O'Shea; Nunez, Lukic; Maeda, Enciso, Fatawu; Emersonn
  • Liverpool: Alisson; Frimpong, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak

Liverpool travel to Portman Road with Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott both flagged as fitness doubts, which could open a squad rotation spot in attack. Ipswich will lean on their limited home advantage against a Liverpool side that's been the league's most dominant attacking unit early on, built around Alexander Isak leading the line.

Newcastle vs Bournemouth - Saturday, 7:30 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Newcastle: Hornicek; Livramento, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Ramsey, Miley; Barnes, Fernandez-Pardo, Elanga; Wissa
  • Bournemouth: Petrovic; Truffert, Hill, Silva, Smith; Christie, Scott; Tavernier, Kluivert, Rayan; Evanilson

Newcastle give a first Premier League start to deadline-day signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo after his £51m move from Lille, while right-back Tino Livramento is a game-time call. Bournemouth arrive without three players through injury (Araujo, Kroupi, Milosavljevic), which thins their squad depth but hasn't dented their reputation as one of the more well-organized mid-table sides in the league.

Brentford vs Sunderland - Saturday, 10:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Brentford: Kelleher; Lewis-Potter, Collins, Ajer, Kayode; Sangare, Janelt; Schade, Jensen, Ouattara; Thiago
  • Sunderland: Roefs; Reinildo, Alderete, Ballard, Meunier; Xhaka, Sadiki; Angulo, Le Fee, Hume; Brobbey

Sunderland's early-season form has been one of the better stories of the new Premier League campaign, and a trip to Brentford is a fair test of whether that's sustainable. Brentford's set-piece threat and direct approach have made them a persistently awkward opponent for sides that don't respect them enough physically.

Brighton vs Leeds - Saturday, 10:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Brighton: Verbruggen; Boscagli, Dunk, Vuskovic; Wieffer, Ayari, Gross; De Cuyper, Hinshelwood, Gomez; Rutter
  • Leeds: Trafford; Ampadu, Bijol, Muharemovic; Justin, Stach, Bogle; Wilson, Aaronson; Calvert-Lewin

Leeds have an injury concern at right-back with Jayden Bogle's fitness in question after a change forced at the back in their last outing, which could push Farke toward a back-four reshuffle. Brighton's recruitment-and-development model keeps producing competitive squads even as their best players get sold on year after year, and this is a genuine test of whether that depth holds up on the road for Leeds.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace - Saturday, 10:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Fulham: Leno; Robinson, Andersen, Bassey, Castagne; Iwobi, Berge; Palacios, King, Bobb; Garcia
  • Crystal Palace: Henderson; Richards, Tomiyasu, Canvot; Mitchell, Kamada, Wharton, Khalaili; Nketiah, Pino; Strand Larsen

Fulham's defensive structure under Marco Silva remains one of the most underrated setups in the league, quietly frustrating far more talented attacks than their table position suggests they should. Palace's squad depth gives them a real chance here, especially with their front line finding rhythm early in the season.

Manchester City vs Coventry City - Saturday, 10:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Manchester City: Donnarumma; Gvardiol, Guehi, Dias, Nunes; Rodri, O'Reilly; Semenyo, Cherki, Foden; Haaland
  • Coventry City: Rushworth; Dasilva, Thomas, Amenda, van Ewijk; Yirenkyi, Grimes; Hamer, Rudoni, Tchaouna; Awoniyi

Erling Haaland is the obvious focal point at the Etihad, but City's summer business, adding Elliot Anderson, Ayyoub Bouaddi, and Iliman Ndiaye, gives Guardiola a much deeper bench to rotate from than in previous seasons. Coventry's first top-flight trip to Manchester City in decades is a huge occasion for the club regardless of the result.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham - Saturday, 10:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Nottingham Forest: Sels; Milenkovic, Murillo, Cunha; Williams, Schlager, Gibbs-White, Aina; Sangare, Ndoye; Igor Jesus
  • Tottenham: Kinsky; van Hecke, van de Ven, Senesi; Robertson, Bentancur, Tonali; Marmoush, Fernandes, Savio; Solanke

Forest's Ibrahim Sangare is a fitness question heading into this one, while summer arrival Elliot Anderson is already gone to Manchester City, a notable gap in their midfield options. Spurs come into the match with a heavily reshaped side following the additions of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and the loan double of Savio and Omar Marmoush, all of whom are pushing for regular starts early.

Hull City vs Aston Villa - Saturday, 12:30 PM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Hull City: Tzolakis; Coyle, Egan, Mendy, Giles; Slater, Crooks; Belloumi, Morita, Stroud; McBurnie
  • Aston Villa: Suzuki; Cash, Pau Torres, Lindelof, Maatsen; Kamara, Barkley; Buendia, McGinn, Hemmings; Alysson

Hull's summer rebuild continues to take shape under Sergej Jakirovic, with new signing Nobel Mendy expected to feature prominently at the back. Villa head into the match still adjusting to life without Morgan Rogers, who left for Chelsea in a club-record fee for the Blues on deadline day.

Everton vs Manchester United - Sunday, 9:00 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Everton: Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Dewsbury-Hall, Armstrong, George; Barry
  • Manchester United: Lammens; Mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Mainoo, Tielemans; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Rashford; Cunha

Worth noting some uncertainty here: Iliman Ndiaye was confirmed sold to Manchester City on deadline day, so despite some team-news trackers still listing him for Everton, he shouldn't be expected to feature. United arrive with Mason Mount, Matthijs de Ligt, and Patrick Dorgu all unavailable through injury, while Michael Carrick continues to build momentum in his early tenure in interim charge.

Arsenal vs Chelsea - Sunday, 11:30 AM ET

Predicted Lineup Gameweek 3

  • Arsenal: Raya; Lewis-Skelly, Mosquera, Calafiori, Gabriel, White; Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Tzolis
  • Chelsea: Sanchez; Lacroix, Colwill, Fofana; James, Caicedo, Fernandez, Gusto; Palmer, Rogers; Joao Pedro

Arsenal go into the London derby without William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, both long-term injury absences at the back, which is a real test of their squad depth against a direct rival. Chelsea's Morgan Rogers gets an early chance to make an impact against one of the league's best sides following his club-record move from Villa, playing off Joao Pedro in attack.

These predicted lineups draw on the most current team news and fitness reports available, but they are not official confirmed team sheets. Some post-deadline-day squad changes are still filtering through team news sites unevenly, and actual lineups won't be locked in until roughly an hour before each kickoff. Check back closer to matchday for anything that shifts.
